ViS can save you costs by utilising your existing infrastructure

Monday, June 14th, 2010

ViS Security Solutions specialise in providing cost effective and innovative solutions to our clients problems. Veracity High-Wire has demonstrated the cost savings that can be made by utilising the existing CCTV architecture. Recently we have conducted some larger IP projects where we have been employed by the client to provide a cost effective solution and provide a reduction in the total cost of ownership and deployment.

Sometimes it may be possible to utilise the existing cameras and systems in place and migrate them across to an IP convergence platform, however as is often the case the existing cameras and older technologies have reached their end of life. Whilst this may be the case, the CCTV architecture is often still functional and in good condition. Veracity therefore offers a solution to this problem !

So how can Veracity Help you ? Veracity can convert Co-axial cable to Ethernet based transmission systems by fitting the Co-axial cable to a Veracity High-Wire device. The Veracity High-Wire comes with an Ethernet connection that allows for the programming and connecting of various IP cameras ranging from static to pan/tilt and zoom cameras. This provides Ethernet transmission up to a distance of 250 metres dependent on the cable type. The devices come in single or four channel configurations which allow for up to four devices such as IP Cameras to be streamed over the one co-axial cable.

With the innovative approach and experience that ViS can offer both in design and deployment, we have demonstrated that we can offer our clients a cost effective solution to IP Migration.

ViS Upgrade Demonstration Vehicle

Saturday, June 12th, 2010

As an ongoing commitment to our customer service we have decided to upgrade our CCTV Demonstration Vehicle. The Vehicle will have a wide array of new equipment installed that will allow us to demonstrate to our clients the new developments with IP Video Surveillance and Integrated Solutions over IP. The Vehicle will have a Cisco Integrated Services Router or ISR fitted with Cisco’s Video Surveillance Manager. The Integrated Services Router also allows for additional modules to be installed within the Router such as Ethernet Switching capabilities, storage and also Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity. The Vehicle will also be fitted with Cisco Wireless applications which shall allow us to demonstrate the systems from inside our clients and potential clients premises using Wi-Fi connectivity from our demonstration laptop. This will demonstrate the functionality of the of the Cisco Physical Security offering over the wireless network infrastructure.

There will be a wide variety of video surveillance cameras within the vehicle ranging from Panasonic I-Pro, Cisco Standard and High Definition Cameras and thanks to our colleagues at Pelco we will have the Pelco Esprit Positioning System with 35x zoom lens capability which will be programmed onto a Cisco H.264 Encoder module which will clearly demonstrate the functionality of conventional CCTV systems when converged onto an IP platform.

Inside the vehicle we will have a small control room layout with virtual matrix monitor displays and management software which can be controlled either from a joystick or keyboard and mouse. There will be integrated alarm management and Access Control systems which will be integrated with the Video Surveillance systems to demonstrate the seamless integration that can be achieved within the network environment.

The Demonstration Vehicle shall be ready for launch at the end of June 2010 when we will be intending to visit our partners and clients for demonstrations. If you would like to receive a demonstration please go to the Cisco section of our website and register for a live demonstration or alternatively talk to your Cisco Account Manager or Partner who will arrange this for you.
