ViS History
ViS was established in 1989. Originally named as Video Information Systems Limited it was established to provide specialist security solutions within Northern Ireland. As the company grew in size it was restructured and was renamed ViS Security Solutions Limited and moved to its current Head Office location off Belfast’s Lisburn Road.
Specialising in Intruder, CCTV and Access Control systems the company was awarded NSI Gold Accreditation in all three disciplines and soon afterwards was awarded ISO Quality Management Accreditations in 9001, 14001 and 18001 and were one of the first security companies in Ireland to secure such accreditations. The company was also announced as a Panasonic Premier Integrator, Inner Range Partner and Hirsch Accredited installer, all of which we have retained to this day.
Due to the ever increasing demand and success of the company, it established its commercial department that specialised in offering integrated solutions to some of the country’s leading blue chip and commercial companies. As a result of the demand, the company added Automated Fire Protection, Structured Cabling and Building Management Systems to its product portfolio. The company was awarded NSI Gold status in Fire and our now SP203 in fire alarm design and also received accreditations from Excel in Structured Cabling and Delta Controls as a BMS Partner.
In 2004 the company first embraced IP technology which at the time was an emerging technology in the security marketplace however we realised that this was the future of integrated security systems and we established a dedicated IP Department who were responsible for developing security solutions based on the network. In-house developments included Second Sight which is a PDA/3G Mobile based software package that allows the streaming of video directly from IP Cameras without the need or requirement for additional manufacturer software.
Today the company has expanded to have three office locations throughout Ireland and we have now expanded our internal departmental structure to include a Cisco ATP and Specialist Design Team, in-house Quantity Surveyor and Health and Safety Management. We have also secured our license from the PSA in Ireland and are now an accredited PSA Intruder Alarm Installation Company.
