Access Control

Cisco Access ServerCisco®  Access Control System – The Cisco Physical Access Control Manager is a server based application designed to provide controlled access for single and multiple building scenarios over the LAN and WAN. The server is capable of controlling up to 1024 modules which include IP Gateways, Input and Output Modules and Reader Modules using a CAN BUS deployment. Provided with its own front end Graphical User Interface, the system and applications can be viewed using multiple screen formats including mapping, video window and multiple events windows.

Using Cisco’s Video Surveillance Manager, the Physical Access Control Manager permits the seamless integration with Cisco Video Surveillance Systems and Products and also 3rd party camera applications. Events and transactions can be monitored in real-time with tagged video events which can be viewed and replayed using the Cisco Physical Access Control Video Surveillance Manager. The Systems also seamlessly integrate with the Cisco Operations Management Software 5 application which enables further integration with other sub-systems such as fire alarm systems, intrusion detection systems and building management applications.

Cisco Physical Access Gateway – The Cisco® Physical Access Gateway is an integral component of the Cisco Physical Access Control solution, and is the primary module used to connect door hardware (readers, locks, etc.) to the IP network. The gateway can connect to a maximum of two doors and associated inputs and outputs. The Cisco Physical Access Gateway is a mandatory component of any access control deployment.

The following optional modules may be connected to the Cisco Physical Access Gateway to control additional doors, inputs, and outputs.

The Cisco® Physical Access Reader – The Reader Module is an optional component of the Cisco Physical Access Control solution. The module can be connected to a Cisco Physical Access Gateway in order to expand the solution to include additional doors. The Cisco Physical Access Reader Module can connect to a maximum of two doors and associated inputs and outputs. It must be used in conjunction with the Cisco Physical Access Gateway using a CAN BUS configuration.

The Cisco® Physical Access Input Module – This Input Module is an optional module that can be connected to the Cisco Physical Access Gateway to expand the solution to include additional inputs. The Cisco Physical Access Input Module can connect up to 10 inputs, each of which can be configured as supervised or unsupervised. It must be used in conjunction with the Cisco Physical Access Gateway using a CAN BUS configuration.

The Cisco® Physical Access Output Module – This Output Module is an optional module that can be connected to the Cisco Physical Access Gateway to expand the solution to include additional outputs. The Cisco Physical Access Output Module can connect up to 8 outputs, each of which can be configured as Normally Open (NO) or Normally Closed (NC). It must be used in conjunction with the Cisco Physical Access Gateway using a CAN BUS configuration.
